Daddy Day
Daddy lived a great life: he was an ultralight pilot, a gold medalist shooter and archer, a hunter, architect, businessman, and of course, a great father and grandfather.
He loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest, always eager to try new food, travel to new places, and meet new people.
Prostate cancer? PFT! He beat that!
Daddy did what he wanted and he was his own boss till the very end.
Intellectually, I know that he had no regrets, is no longer in pain, and is in a far better place now but that doesn't make it hurt any less.
Daddy has been my Saturday date for over 22 years. He is my movie partner, my lunch mate, and my shopping partner. Saturdays have always been "Daddy Day" for me and this Saturday will be my last with him.
Its appropriate that he will be laid to rest on Daddy Day.
