Best 8 of '08 (better late than never)
(In no particular order)
Books:
Blue Bloods: Revelations - Not as good as the first 2 books in the series but still exciting.
Breaking Dawn (the Twilight Saga) - Two words: Edward Cullen. 'Nuf said.
Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox - Arty is awesome. He could kick Harry Potter's behind.
Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale - This is the first book and best of the trilogy
Feasting On Asphalt - A cook book that reads like a novel
Pop Babylon - A funny book that chronicles the adventures of a fictional boyband
Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow / East - These two books are similar versions of the same Norse myth and I like them equally. The girl falls in love with a Polar Bear; what's not to like?
Music:
David Cook - I don't care what anyone says: I heart David Cook!
Mêlée - I lurve them! Lia rocks for discovering them.
Matt Nathanson - He's awesome (and he thinks I am too! I have proof)
Joshua Radin - I discovered him on the Ellen DeGeneres show. Hee hee.
Torchwood soundtrack - This is a little unusual and not for everyone but I think its great.
Augustana - Sweet and Low - I can listen to this song over and over again.
Five A.M. - Indie band from Cali with a fab cello!
John Barrowman - Last year my guilty pleasure was Michael Ball, this year it's John :">
Movies:
Twilight - Saw it 3 times in 10 days. Those Cullen men are yummy, especially Emmett :P
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - The aliens made it all a bit hokey but I still love Indy and Harrison.
Spiderwick Chronicles - Freddie Highmore is just adorable.
Northanger Abbey - I have just one complaint: its too short :(
X-Files - Not the greatest storyline but it was nice seeing Mulder & Scully (& Skinner) again.
Atonement - One of the few non-happy-ending movies I enjoyed
Sweeney Todd - visually overwhelming (as Tim Burton films tend to be) but the singing definitely leaves much to be desired. As much as I love Alan Rickman, I still prefer the original Sweeny Todd.
Jane Eyre - Its really long (4 hours) but I loved it enough to buy the DVD
Food:
Kalles Randiga Kaviar - Smoked Swedish caviar and cream cheese: heaven in a tube!
Sisig Horray - I'm not particularly fond of sisig but this is good stuff!
Starburst Sour - My favorite chewy candy. Its perfectly tart.
Swedish Pancakes & Bangers - paper-thin pancakes with whipped butter & lingonberries and greasy sausages - the perfect way to start the day!
Big Bite Jumbo Barquillos - I ate so much of this, I don't want to see it again until 2010.
Odwalla Superfood with Spirulina - I don't know how nutritious spirulina really is (it claims to be as good as a multivitamin) but I love how it makes everything so green :)
Barley Water - Singapore's yummiest drink
Products:
iPhone - My new baby, Luci. He's my best purchase in 2008! (yes, HE)
CO Bigelow MENTHA line - Can't live without it. If they sold this here they'd make a fortune!
Neon pink nail polish - Its my staple color along with black & midnight blue
Pilot FriXion - Erasable highlighters! Genius, absolute genius!
Phillips Salon Shine Ion hair dryer - It's light, it folds, and its (relatively) quiet.
VMV Hypoallergenics Boo Boo Balm - Great product & made in the Philippines too!
Kiwi Shoe Polish - Makes old leather bags look like new.
Eucalyptus Kleenex - Kinda pricey but worth it.
Places:
Manila - I'm glad to be home
Oslo - Gorgeous place!
Stockholm - Stocked up on my Kalles Kaviar and Inlagd Sil (picked herring) YUM!
