Movies I'm looking Forward to in 2009

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - Harry Potter rocks. No further explanation necessary.

Star Trek - I've been a Trekkie for most of my life but my passion has waned with the recent Trek drought. I'm hoping this will make up for the last few movie failures.

Angels and Demons - I liked this book much more than The Da Vinci Code so I'm hoping this movie will also be better.

Cirque Du Freak - I read the books and they're okay. I can't quite imagine a movie version so I'm excited to see how it turns out.

Coraline - I have the audiobook of this read by Neil Gaiman himself and its freaky. Singing mice and buttons for eyes? (shudder) I can imagine a movie version would be even creepier! Its a "horror-lite" movie for kids.

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra - I watched G.I. Joe cartoons as a kid and I've forgiven but not forgotten that time Kuya Marty used my one and only G.I.Joe Band-Aid that I was preciously saving. But to be honest, I'll be watching this movie mainly for Christopher Eccleston because he's my Doctor. Fantastic!

He-Man: Masters of the Universe: I've always preferred She-Ra to He-Man but since there doesn't seem to be an option, I'll take whichever twin makes it to the big screen.

Dorian Gray - I've been meaning to read the novel but never got around to doing so so I'm glad a movie is coming out to save me the trouble (and the guilt for putting it off so many times).

Special mentions:
AstroBoy - Yay for Freddie Highmore! I find it a bit strange, though, that AstroBoy is wearing a shirt in the teaser trailer...
Secret of Moonacre - I have the book this is based on but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. The cast looks promising!
New Moon - Book 2 of the Twilight Saga; not my favorite but I'm still excited to see it.
Wolverine - Another X-Men movie is always welcome.
Disney's Princess and the Frog - This is one of my favorite fairy tales so I'm glad Disney is finally making it into a full-legth feature film.
